Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use this website and when we quote for or carry out roofing work for you.

Last updated 8 September 2026

These terms and conditions apply to your use of the Constructive Metal Roofing website and to the roofing services we provide. Please read them before you use this site or engage us for work.

In these terms, we, us and our mean Constructive Metal Roofing, a metal roofing contractor based in Croydon, Victoria, licence BPC 113121. You means the person or business using this website or engaging us.

1. About these terms

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Where we carry out work for you, these terms apply alongside your quote and any contract you sign. If there is a conflict between these terms and a signed contract, the signed contract prevails.

Most residential roofing work in Victoria is domestic building work. Where the law requires a written contract, we will provide one that complies with the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic). These terms do not replace that contract.

2. Using this website

You may use this website to find information about our services, to request a quote and to contact us. You must not:

  • use the site for any unlawful purpose
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it
  • introduce malicious code, or interfere with how the site works for anyone else
  • copy, scrape or republish material from the site without our written permission
  • submit false information, or submit an enquiry on someone else's behalf without their consent

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site at any time without notice.

3. Website content

We take care to keep the information on this site accurate and current. Even so, it is provided for general information only. Roofing is site specific, and nothing on this website is advice about your particular roof.

Photographs of completed work show projects we have carried out. Results vary between properties. Colour swatches and the Colorbond® colour chart on this site are a guide only. Colours appear differently on different screens, so please view a physical sample before you make a final choice.

Prices, timeframes and product availability mentioned on this site may change without notice and are not an offer.

4. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this website, including text, photographs, layout, graphics and code, is owned by us or used under licence. You may view and print pages for your own use in considering our services. You may not reproduce, modify or distribute any part of it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Colorbond®, Lysaght®, BlueScope®, Ampelite® and Bradford® are trade marks of their respective owners. We use them to identify the products we install. We are not those companies and we do not speak for them.

5. Quotes and estimates

A quote is based on the information available to us at the time, including what you tell us, the photographs you send and what we can see during an inspection.

  • Unless we say otherwise in writing, a quote is valid for 30 days from the date we issue it.
  • A quote covers only the work described in it. Anything not listed is not included.
  • Where we give a figure over the phone or by email without inspecting the roof, that is an estimate, not a quote. The price may change once we see the job.
  • Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.

6. Accepting a quote

A booking is made once you accept the quote in writing and, where one is required, sign the contract and pay any deposit. Until then, we have not reserved materials or a place in our schedule.

Colour, profile and material selections are confirmed at this point. Changing them after materials are ordered may involve a cost, which we will tell you about before proceeding.

7. Access to the site

To carry out the work you agree to give us safe and reasonable access to the property during normal working hours, and to:

  • tell us about anything on the property that affects safety or access, including asbestos, solar panels, skylights, pets, security systems or fragile surfaces
  • move vehicles, outdoor furniture and other belongings out of the work area where we ask you to
  • keep children and pets away from the work area and from any skip or materials on site
  • provide access to power and water where the work requires it
  • obtain any body corporate, owners corporation, neighbour or council permission needed before we start

Roofing work generates noise and dust, and existing ceilings, cornices and fixtures can be disturbed by vibration. We take care, but some disturbance is normal and is not a defect in our work.

If we attend at an agreed time and cannot access the site, we may charge a call-out fee.

8. Variations and unforeseen work

Some things cannot be seen until the roof is opened up, such as rotted or undersized battens, damaged trusses, hidden water damage, non-compliant existing work or asbestos.

If we find something that is not covered by the quote, we will stop, tell you what we have found, and give you a price for the extra work. We will not carry out that work until you approve it, except where it is necessary to make the site safe or to prevent immediate damage.

Variations are payable in addition to the quoted price.

9. Payment

  • A deposit of [DEPOSIT %] is payable on acceptance, unless the contract says otherwise.
  • Progress payments, where they apply, are set out in the contract. [PROGRESS PAYMENT STAGES]
  • The balance is due [PAYMENT DAYS] days from the date of the final invoice.
  • We accept [PAYMENT METHODS].

Deposits and progress payments for domestic building work are limited by the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic). We will not ask for more than the law allows.

If an invoice is not paid by the due date, we may charge interest at [INTEREST RATE] and recover reasonable costs of collection. We may also suspend work on any unfinished job until payment is made.

Title in any materials supplied remains with us until the invoice covering them is paid in full. Risk passes to you on installation.

10. Cancellation and delays

If you cancel after accepting a quote, you are responsible for materials already ordered or cut to size and for work already carried out. Where you cancel with less than [NOTICE PERIOD] notice of the start date, a cancellation fee of [CANCELLATION FEE] may apply.

Where you are a consumer, any cooling-off rights under the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic) or the Australian Consumer Law apply and are not affected by this clause.

Roofing depends on the weather. We may reschedule work because of rain, high wind, extreme heat or unsafe conditions. We will give you as much notice as we can. We are not liable for loss caused by delays outside our control, including weather, supplier delays, industrial action or restrictions imposed by an authority.

11. Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for [WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY PERIOD] from completion, subject to the conditions below.

Materials carry the manufacturer's own warranty. Colorbond® steel, for example, is warranted by BlueScope on its own terms. We will pass on the benefit of those warranties and help you make a claim, but we do not extend them.

Our workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • damage from storms, hail, fallen trees, fire, flood or other events outside our control
  • damage caused by anyone else working on the roof after us, including antenna, solar, air-conditioning or pest control installers
  • damage caused by you or a third party walking on the roof
  • failure of parts of the roof we did not install or were not asked to repair
  • normal wear, fading, or a failure to carry out reasonable maintenance such as clearing gutters
  • problems arising from a decision you made against our written advice

To make a claim, contact us in writing with photos and a description of the problem. We will inspect and, where the claim is valid, repair or replace at our cost.

Statutory warranties under the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic) apply to domestic building work and are not affected by this clause.

12. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a remedy for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the services put right if they are not carried out with due care and skill, and if the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

13. Limits on our liability

Except for rights and remedies that cannot be excluded by law, and to the extent permitted by law:

  • our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to resupplying the services, or paying the cost of having them resupplied
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of income or loss of opportunity
  • we are not liable for loss you could have avoided by taking reasonable steps, including acting on advice we gave you
  • we are not liable for pre-existing defects in the building, or for damage that would have occurred regardless of our work

We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website, or from any inability to access it.

14. Photographs of the work

We photograph our work for our records and, in many cases, for our website, quotes and social media. These photos show the roof and the exterior of the building. We do not publish your name or street address alongside them without your permission.

If you would prefer we did not use photographs of your property, tell us before the work starts and we will not use them.

15. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

16. Links to other websites

This website links to other sites, including Google Reviews, Facebook, Instagram and manufacturer sites. We provide those links for convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their terms.
